Anne Frank The Biography
„This nuanced and valuable supplement to Anne´s diary eschews idealization, providing a fuller picture of a vibrant, willful, and soul-searching young woman.”
Publishers Weekly
For this portrait of my famous subject, I drew on exclusive interviews with family and friends as well as on previously unavailable correspondence and documents, even, in the process, discovering five missing diary pages. I was aiming to return Anne Frank to history, unsentimentally portraying her as the flesh-and-blood girl she was.
Fifteen years after the book first appeared, I revised and updated it with more than 30 percent new material, also taking a closer look at the Frank family´s arrest and the possible betrayers.
„Müller´s biography ably celebrates ‘a life of singular intensity’ … In the end, it does exactly what it should: sends us back to Anne´s words.”
The Philadelphia Inquirer
„An accurate and honest portrait”
The Independent
